He has discovered Cheerios

In just the last week Jared has discovered Cheerios. In the past, he would just push them around on his high-chair tray. They'd all end up on the floor or littered around his waist. But one day he finally picked one up and put it in his mouth. What was that? I like that, so another one went in. And then another and another. And then he choked so I jammed my finger in his mouth to fish them all out. But we survived and he's a champ now. He usually has a handful and a mouthful at the same time. And it's so fun to watch him try and gum them and roll them around with his tongue. With four teeth, he's on his way up the food chain. I can't believe that he'll be eating real food in just a few months. He's growing up so fast.

What a cutie!!! I had to laugh at your posting...it wasn't that long ago that I too was marveling over such advances. Now my daughter is 2 and I can't believe where she started and where she is now. It is one of the most amazing, yet challenging things you can do in this world. Now we are having another baby and I have to wonder a few things. First, how will Nora react? Perhaps jealousy. Or maybe the best little helper ever. Second I wonder if I will remember all that baby stuff. It seems so long ago. My hopes are that it all just comes back. Like once you've done it you are a pro. I know I won't be such a spazz. I got a little crazy with the hand sanitizers!

Anyway, thanks for taking me back. I hope I can slow down and really enjoy the little things like eating the first cheerio. Please enjoy everyday. Next thing you know he will be 2 with a little sibling on the way!

Thanks Jeff!
